Flexport is a high-growth logistics tech company that seeks to disrupt the supply chain industry and its traditional freight forwarders.

Overview

Leadership wanted to shift from a bloated legacy product to a new framework for scaling operations.

The company had recently raised $935M and was hungry to take more market share. Also around this time, founder/CEO Ryan Peterson announced that he’d be handing the reins to Dave Clark, a 20+ year Amazon veteran, to take Flexport to the next level.

It was time to make big strides in our internal products.

Joining Flexport

In June 2022, I joined Flexport’s UX team of 70+ to impact its core business and design for its freight ops teams.

Over the course of my time at Flexport, I worked as a part of two teams: The Knowledge Management team, and the Forwarding Platform team.

I worked on supporting operators’ transition from their legacy product (Core) to the new platform called FFA (Flexport Forwarding App), designing new features and iterating on what’s existing.

Redesigning Shipment Details

Enabling 100% user adoption of FFA

Shipment Details suffered from poor UX and became a big blocker to “100% operator adoption by October 31”, a key KPI determined by top leadership.

Knowledge Management

Building a path to organized client information

We sought to organize the tribal knowledge that our Flexport operators had around their client’s service requirements and preferences.
