Product Designer

Agent Marketing Team
ZapLabs’ parent company, Realogy, looked to ZapLabs as its “innovation and tech hub”. Part of this meant providing white-label technology tooling to its residential real estate agents under their brand portfolio companies, such as Coldwell Banker and Better Homes & Gardens.
The focus was to add features for better individual agent marketing and improving native consumer apps as competition against the likes of Zillow and Redfin.
I designed a module agents could add to their “WYSIWYG”-style websites where they could promote their sold homes, as well as iteratively improved aspects of the consumer mobile apps across both iOS and Android. The Android consumer app (similar to Zillow) was reskinned using Material Design, while both iOS and Android apps had a redesigned “School Information” module - a way for consumers to gauge school district quality.

ZapLabs is a company creating tech solutions in the real estate space.
I joined as a product designer in June 2018, working on projects to improve agent marketing and refine their existing native consumer apps on iOS and Anroid.
My team focused on agent marketing and traffic growth to platform, and I did end-to-end design for major brands (e.g. Coldwell Banker, Century 21) that were situated under Realogy. Realogy, which had acquired ZapLabs in 2016, considered ZapLabs as its “innovation and technology hub.”
During my time there, I redesigned the Android app to meet Material standards and UX needs, and created features with web components to improve agent SEO.
Below are 4 featured projects.
Project 1 of 4
A sleeker look with Material Design
Collaborators: Ema Pejčić
Apr 2019 – Jun 2019
Goal
Update the UX/UI of our consumer Android app to Material Design standards and address urgent ADA compliance needs.
Result
Product designer Ema Pejčić and I ideated from a blue-sky vantage point to converge on a polished design that restructured flawed UX with Material components and interactions.
Project 2 of 4
Helping parents compare local schools
Primary Designer
Apr 2019 — Jun 2019
Goal
Revisit use cases of the School Information feature to improve its existing UX and apply Material Design guidelines as part of the Property Details Page.
Result
I implemented already-existing components, gave users an intuitive UI with Material, and provided a valuable reference point for parents (later research showed that parents do a lot of research when looking at schools but trust the GreatSchools credentials and information).
Project 3 of 4
New components with a new design system
Contributor
Jun 2019
Goal
With the imminent launch of the new design system underway, use the system to recreate and redesign critical components on an agent’s profile page (e.g. My Sold Homes).
Result
Demonstrated the power of a well-constructed design system to rapidly modernize a preexisting web component across all screen sizes, keeping mobile-first in mind.
Project 4 of 4
Helping agents list their sold homes
Collaborators: Melissa Gamo
Sep 2018 – Oct 2018
Goal
Design a brand-new feature for both agents and team profile pages that showcases their sold homes, using parts of the developing design system and keeping breakpoints in mind (mobile at 320, tablet at 600, desktop at 1280).
Result
Designed (with the support of Visual Designer, Melissa Gamo) and launched the My Sold Homes feature, which prompted an overwhelmingly positive response on its impact – measured in the quantity of agents that chose to opt into activating the feature on their profiles.

Other companies I worked at:
Flexport
I joined Flexport’s Freight Operations organization as a senior designer in June 2022. My two featured projects helped supply chain operators transition to a new internal tool in the making.
RAISE CRE BROKERAGE
I joined Raise in August 2019 as their third designer and redesigned how Raise’s commercial real estate brokers collaborate with their clients.
